“Huge thanks to Beza for her phenomenal facilitation. Without her disarming presence, we would not have been as comfortable and candid. Thank you for creating the space for us to reflect on the past year, explore interpersonal development, celebrate successes, and have much needed conversations on difficult topics. We generated impactful solutions that I am excited for us to implement over the coming year.”
— Jasmine Buttolph, MPH, Division Director, Global Health Bureau, Nov 2023 (previous client)
“The Leadership Coaching course provided us with a much-needed safe space to disconnect from the hustle of our schedules and focus inward. We built connections amongst participants and the facilitator. There was sufficient time to reflect and think deeply about challenging topics. I really enjoyed practicing coaching techniques so we can be more confident in applying them in the future in all aspects of our lives.
I left with tools to approach future challenges and communicate more effectively with my team. I learned how to approach some personal challenges with a new perspective. It gave me a different lens to look at any future challenges. I learned to focus on what I can control, which includes how I react to a situation, and how I make others feel through my actions.
I learned to consider all sides of a story before jumping to conclusions. I am very inspired by the possibility of creating the life I want and allowing it to flow through me, rather than feeling victimized or powerless by life happening to me. The coaching course provided me with tools to approach future challenges and communicate more effectively with my team.”
— Camille Manoukian, MPH, Program Coordinator, Global Health Bureau, Jun 2024 (previous client)
“The Leadership Coaching course encouraged me to be more introspective and reflect on tough work situations. I learned key coaching skills, such as listening to understand, instead of listening to respond.
I enjoyed the hands-on exercise to address a current challenge I was dealing with at work. Going through the exercise provided me with new insights, a strengthened mindset (being more open-minded, such as the ability to see things from another’s perspective) and a clear approach to dealing with my pressing work challenge. I look forward to learning more from these coaching course series!”

“During the beginning of COVID-19, leadership anticipated OD Team’s workload might decrease as most of our work was conducted in-person, however the opposite was true as the number of clients increased. The OD Team sustained existent clients, while also securing new clients. Beza demonstrated leadership by embracing change to adapt to the virtual environment. She was able to do this by providing clear strategic direction, cultivating relationships, and leveraging technologies. She was selected to facilitate key aspects of the Distributed Work Environment (DWE) OPT (e.g., facilitating two-day kick off meeting) to support the entire organization to adapt to the virtual environment and leverage technologies. She briefed LtGen Broadmeadow on the development and creation of Opportunity Statements as an approach to position DWE through Opportunity Framing vice Problem Framing. She designed and implemented approaches for the OPT course of action (COA) development and served as an alternate lead for the COA development working groups. She contributed to the culture line of effort and provided valuable feedback to the Implementation Plan. She wrote the Conversation Guide to serve as a tool used for supervisors to facilitate meaningful conversations with their staff on a recurring basis to promote connection, engagement and well-being.
Beza also provided strategic advising/consultations to our AR Front Office on a recurring basis and additional branches, such as ARD to identify ways to better adapt to the virtual environment to ensure employee engagement and quality customer service. I had the pleasure to partner with her on ARHM Management initiatives, including hiring efforts for vacancies. She led an ARHM Knowledge Management (KM) Leadership Project, which identified key attributed that make leaders successful. She briefed the findings that identified strengths to leverage and opportunities for improvement for our section.”

“Beza is an extremely strong resource who demonstrates creative and independent thinking when leading and supporting different organizational development initiatives. During the time she supported on my team, she accomplished a number of tasks successfully, all of which resulted in accolades from the client.
As one of her first projects, she was responsible for leading a workforce planning initiative in support of the reorganization across NCEH/ATSDR and providing details that helped align the needs and priorities of the organization with the workforce. The resulting report became the start of the first-ever succession plan for the Center. Additionally, she conducted an analysis of the annual Employee Viewpoint Survey (EVS) and used the data to provide recommendations to leadership for improving employee satisfaction and retention. As with all of her work, this high-visibility project was completed with precision, and the documented results were well-received and easily understood by the NCEH/ATSDR leadership.
Because of Beza’s ability to lead and exceed expectations, during my maternity leave, Beza was trusted to backfill in my absence, and she did so without missing a beat. It is through this level of leadership and professionalism that allows me to wholeheartedly endorse Beza for a more senior position that draws on her creativity and allows her to lead a team and remain client facing – both externally and internally.”
