— Melaku Dessie, Division Director, Global Health Bureau, USAID, Washington, DC, Nov 2024

“Beza worked with my team for two years for our senior management and all team retreats. She also facilitated my leadership team’s growth as a senior leadership group. Across all of our interactions, she was thoughtful, kind, and thought-provoking in the most meaningful way possible. Under her tutelage, our senior management team really grew and understood ourselves better and became a better management team-more committed to the psychological safety of our strengths and build our strategy in actionable ways. I fully recommend her for your team’s growth needs.”

— Julianna Kohler, Deputy Division Director, Global Health Bureau, USAID, Washington, DC, Feb 2025

“Huge thanks to Beza for her phenomenal facilitation. Without her disarming presence, we would not have been as comfortable and candid. Thank you for creating the space for us to reflect on the past year, explore interpersonal development, celebrate successes, and have much needed conversations on difficult topics. We generated impactful solutions that I am excited for us to implement over the coming year.”

“The Leadership Coaching course provided us with a much-needed safe space to disconnect from the hustle of our schedules and focus inward. We built connections amongst participants and the facilitator. There was sufficient time to reflect and think deeply about challenging topics. I really enjoyed practicing coaching techniques so we can be more confident in applying them in the future in all aspects of our lives. I left with tools to approach future challenges and communicate more effectively with my team. I learned how to approach some personal challenges with a new perspective. It gave me a different lens to look at any future challenges. I learned to focus on what I can control, which includes how I react to a situation, and how I make others feel through my actions. I learned to consider all sides of a story before jumping to conclusions. I am very inspired by the possibility of creating the life I want and allowing it to flow through me, rather than feeling victimized or powerless by life happening to me. The coaching course provided me with tools to approach future challenges and communicate more effectively with my team.”

— Camille Manoukian, Program Coordinator, MPH, Global Health Bureau, USAID

“The Leadership Coaching course encouraged me to be more introspective and reflect on tough work situations. I learned key coaching skills, such as listening to understand, instead of listening to respond. I enjoyed the hands-on exercise to address a current challenge I was dealing with at work. Going through the exercise provided me with new insights, a strengthened mindset (being more open-minded, such as the ability to see things from another’s perspective) and a clear approach to dealing with my pressing work challenge. I look forward to learning more from these coaching course series!”

What People Are Saying (Leaders)

“I connected with Beza at the beginning of this year as I searched for summer public health internships. She provided invaluable public health and professional development insights and resources. Beza also willingly connected me with public health leaders, which supported me to find this great opportunity. I am so appreciative of her time. I highly recommend her services to others!”

— Almalina Gomes, MPH (Oct 2023)

“Beza is an excellent mentor who is highly knowledgeable about her area of expertise. During our conversations, she offered insights and strategies on how to navigate the job market after graduation, including the various opportunities available in global public health. Her approach focuses on co-creation which helped me to maximize my talent and the job opportunities I was targeting.

Beza was also earnest in sharing her own experiences and lessons learned; I am fortunate to have connected with her and I cannot recommend her enough to anyone interested in collaborating with her!”

— Martha Kamikazi, MPH (Jul 2023)

“I have had the pleasure of watching Beza grow from a smart, thoughtful colleague into an inspirational leader and coach. She is quick to point out others' strengths and abilities and often knows the right thing to say to help you find your way. When I was recently transitioning to a new position, she gave me some useful resources to help me with the transition. It allowed me to be more mindful and deliberate during a stressful time full of change, and I feel like the transition was much smoother as a result. She is also naturally curious and loves to learn new things, so she always seems have new and relevant tools, articles, or resources to share, no matter what goal or challenge I'm trying to work on.”

— Carolyn Acker, MPH (Jan 2021)

“Beza is the kind of person you want on your team. She stands out as one of a kind in terms of hitting the ground running, contributing positively to projects in way that moves things forward, and is a great partner to hash out new ideas. She works extremely well with others and can navigate challenging contexts. Within weeks of starting her new role, she demonstrated leading a team via an Organizational Development project, delegating to peers, managing the project, working with high-level clients. The impacts of her engagements with clients have generated positive feedback including that clients noting that Beza brought unique and needed level of support. She contributed to the development of her peers by encouraging peers to shadow her to learn best practices with various critical initiatives. She has the confidence to execute new projects/challenges.

When I was on leave, Beza served as Acting Section Head, taking on leadership duties and offering to provide support wherever needed (however big or small the task). She developed tools/standards to improve the quality of work for the section. Overall, Beza stands out as a top performing and highly emotionally intelligent leader!”

— Anyana Banerjee, Director, White House Leadership Program (managed Beza between 2014-2016 at CDC & 2018-2019 at USMC)

“Beza is an extremely strong resource who demonstrates creative and independent thinking when leading and supporting different organizational development initiatives. During the time she supported on my team, she accomplished a number of tasks successfully, all of which resulted in accolades from the client.

As one of her first projects, she was responsible for leading a workforce planning initiative in support of the reorganization across NCEH/ATSDR and providing details that helped align the needs and priorities of the organization with the workforce. The resulting report became the start of the first-ever succession plan for the Center. Additionally, she conducted an analysis of the annual Employee Viewpoint Survey (EVS) and used the data to provide recommendations to leadership for improving employee satisfaction and retention. As with all of her work, this high-visibility project was completed with precision, and the documented results were well-received and easily understood by the NCEH/ATSDR leadership.

Because of Beza’s ability to lead and exceed expectations, during my maternity leave, Beza was trusted to backfill in my absence, and she did so without missing a beat. It is through this level of leadership and professionalism that allows me to wholeheartedly endorse Beza for a more senior position that draws on her creativity and allows her to lead a team and remain client facing – both externally and internally.”

— Latrisha Hernandez, Director, HR Transformation and HCM Workday, PwC (managed Beza between 2016-2018 at PwC)
